odds and ends

It's hard to keep your mind on much of anything when the phone call that you have been praying for comes in on a Friday afternoon and you miss it.

Our minds are left wandering.  And wandering.  And wandering...

Miss E was in her bedroom after dinner last night and started yelling "Mom and Dad!  Mom and Dad!  The green stuff is back!  In the yard!  Come look!  The green stuff!"

It's official - we have teeny tiny bits of green 'stuff' in our yard.  I believe the official name for it is grass?

This article hits dead on as to the euphoria (and subsequent guilt) that accompanies a trip to Target.  Enjoy!  It is probably a good thing that our 'local' Target is almost two hours away.

Two things that I have been reflecting on lately are the need for white space and breathing room.
  • This blog post from one of my favorite bloggers talks about the need for White Space
  • The subject of White Space makes me think of the need for Breathing Room.  Andy Stanley has a great series on the subject that you can find here.
Both of these talk about the need for some margins in life.  Andrea talks about the need for it in your home, while Andy talks about the need for it in a larger scope.  Andy defines breathing room as "The space between our current pace and our limits" and then he goes on to say that it affects our relationships, our finances and our schedules.  Ultimately, running through life at the 'red line' - at the end of our resources isn't going to improve anything in our life.  We have to have room to breathe.  We have to have margin.  We have to have balance.

Enjoy your Saturday!
